SB 139 has been signed into law by Governor Greitens. SB 139 contains one of MPTA’s legislative priorities for the 2017 legislative session, language that modifies our practice act by removing language that states supervision of a PTA student must be provided by an on-site PT.
This change will go into effect on August 28, 2017 and will ensure PTA students can get clinical experiences in the settings they will most likely be employed (long term/skilled nursing facilities and rural outpatient clinics) where a PT is not onsite at all times.
