Join your colleagues at the Capitol in Jefferson City on February 23rd, 2016. Educate our legislators about the physical therapy profession and advocate on behalf of our patients.
Please plan to come to the Missouri State Capitol Building on February 23rd, 2016 for MPTA Lobby Day. We plan to meet in the First Floor Rotunda at 8:00 a.m. for a briefing by MPTA President Paula Burnett, Government Affairs Chair Chris Marsh, PR Chair Jeff Krug, and MPTA Lobbyist John Bardgett. Attendees will then be divided into groups (each with a PT or PTA leader) to make legislative visits. Pizza will be served in the Capitol Basement (Room TBA) at 11:00 a.m. Please bring a water bottle or plan to purchase a beverage in the Capitol Cafeteria.
Lobby Day is the perfect opportunity to meet legislators face to face, thank them for their past support, and educate them on the critical role PTs and PTAs play in Missouri’s healthcare system. PLEASE WATCH YOUR E-MAIL FOR INFORMATON ON OUR LEGISLATIVE EFFORTS FOR THIS SESSION. We also use this time to build relationships and ensure the physical therapy profession is protected as we approach critical elections in 2016. We need to show PTs, PTAs, and students are aware that legislators CAN and DO influence your practice. Please join us to show your support!
- Please register online by Tuesday, Feb. 16th if you are attending ’16 Lobby Day
- The online registration form will ask for your Senator and Representative (this is easy to lookup by typing in your address on the Missouri Legislator Lookup website.)
A strong presence at Lobby Day means a stronger voice in legislative matters that influence our practice and our patients. Make a difference by making the trip to Jefferson City!
