Integrative Spin on Dizziness: Update

Wednesday, September 3, 2025

8:00-10:00pm

Course Description:

The person living with dizziness often experiences disability, decreased independence, psychological distress, and decreased quality of life.  Moreover, physical therapists who treat individuals with dizziness are challenged by the apparent complexity and often, the lack of progress towards recovery.  Extant conceptual models of persistent dizziness are complex and do not consider the first person (lived) experience of the person or provide a cohesive account that can inform therapeutic interventions. This course explores a contemporary framework for engaging the person with persistent dizziness, integrating the lived experience with clinical and theoretical models of the condition to identify evidence-supported clinical targets for recovery.

Course Objectives:

Following this webinar, the participants will be able to:

  • Integrate qualitative data from the lived experience of the person with dizziness into current models of the condition to form a contemporary framework incorporating cognitive-perceptual, sensorimotor, social, and environmental factors.
  • Describe factors derived from first-principle theoretical neurobiology that utilize this contemporary framework to predict and facilitate adaptation, persistence, and recovery from acute and persistent dizziness.
  • Identify and implement person-centered, clinically-accessible, and evidence-supported rehabilitation strategies based on an emerging holistic understanding of dizziness.

Schedule:

September 3rd

8:00 – 10:00 p.m.    Presentation and Q&A

Speakers:

Mark Broberg, DPT, is co-founder of Two Trees Physical Therapy & Wellness in Ventura County, CA, where he continues his clinical practice helping clients with dizziness. He has been a Board Certified Neurologic Physical Therapist (NCS) since 2013, with over 20 years of experience working with people affected by dizziness, pain, and a variety of neurologic conditions.

He has worked in diverse clinical settings, including Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, where he served as a mentor for the USC-Rancho Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency program. Marc continues to provide guest lectures with the Southern California Neuroconsortium for neurologic physical therapy residents across the country and for entry-level DPT programs. He has published and continues to write peer-reviewed papers exploring integrative insights and approaches to the person with dizziness.

Marc’s newly developed clinical continuing education course, Integrative Spin on Dizziness, is a cutting-edge exploration into scientific and humanistic perspectives and strategies to understand and help the person with dizziness.
