You can take part in the MPTA Fall Conference AND take part in our special PT Day of Service project to assist
TRUE NORTH.
True North is an emergency shelter in Columbia, MO that provides a safe place for victims of domestic and sexual violence fleeing from their abuser. They provide a statewide hotline, referral information, emotional support and safety planning twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days a year.
Additional resident services include:
crisis intervention counseling case management
life skills children’s programs support groups
How can you take part in this service project? When you come to the Fall Conference, just bring along an item listed on the shelter’s “wish list” located on the conference registration form or by clicking here. Note that personal care items must be new/unopened, and kitchen items must be new or gently used. Clothing donations are NOT accepted as they partner with a resale shop. The items will be delivered to the shelter by MPTA members in the Columbia area. You can check out their website at truenorthofcolumbia.org
