"The Best way to predict your Future is to create it."
Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States
The MPTA places tremendous value on our student members. The student members of today will become the future leaders of our organization. Our student members are truly creating their own future; at a very early stage in their careers they see the value in their profressional organization.
Each month the MPTA will place a spotlight on one of our tremendous student physical therapists or student physical therapist assistants. Please contact Sylvia Czuppon, MPTA Social Media Chair, if you would like to recommend a student for our Spotlight page.

MPTA would like to recognize Kristine as the MPTA 2017 October Student Spotlight!
Anticipated Graduation Year / School: 2019 - Missouri State University
Awards: I just found out that I was nominated for a scholarship from PEO.
Research:
I am involved in a research study that is currently on going, we are looking at how yoga can impact kids that have Cerebral Palsy and hopefully decrease the impact of obesity, which is very prevalent in that community of kids.
Other Accomplishments:
I am a PTDOS (PT Day of Service) Ambassador - so I plan a volunteer opportunity with a community partner for professionals in this area to get involved within the community for one designated day a year.
I have helped contribute to making a manual orthopedic student interest group at MSU through AAOMPT, with other student leaders to try and increase the experience and exposure to manual techniques and interventions.
~~ I love volunteering with kids that have disabilities! I have volunteered with Special Olympics and the Adapted Triathalon that Missouri University puts on, also the PTDOS event this year is with young adults that have disabilities. I also love attending informational sessions like MPTA’s Lobby Day in Jefferson City, MO and MPTA’s Spring Conference that was in St. Louis, MO this year! ~ Kristine
