"The Best way to predict your Future is to create it."
Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States
The MPTA places tremendous value on our student members. The student members of today will become the future leaders of our organization. Our student members are truly creating their own future; at a very early stage in their careers they see the value in their profressional organization.
Each month the MPTA will place a spotlight on one of our tremendous student physical therapists or student physical therapist assistants. Please contact Sylvia Czuppon, MPTA Social Media Chair, if you would like to recommend a student for our Spotlight page.

~~ My passion for physical therapy has grown tremendously throughout my time in DPT school at Maryville University. However, one experience really shines above the rest. In the summer of 2015 I traveled alone to Kathmandu, Nepal, to volunteer at the Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC) of Nepal. My trip fell shortly after the country had been devastated by two massive earthquakes, and the SIRC was flooded with victims of the earthquakes who had suffered spinal cord injuries from buildings falling on top of them. During my time there I treated patients for cardiopulmonary PT, wound management, transfer and wheelchair training and much more. I assisted in earthquake relief efforts including reconstruction, trauma relief, and psychological management for traumatic SCI. My love for the PT profession grew throughout this time as I helped patients through this difficult time. Moving forward, I am very excited to continue working with populations such as this both domestically and abroad. - Monica
