APTA Honors & Awards

APTA Honors & Awards Program 

APTA's Honors & Awards program recognizes outstanding achievements on the part of its members in the areas of overall accomplishment, education, practice and service, publications, research, and academic excellence. Award recipients are recognized on Thursday, June 9, 2016, from 5:30-6:30pm with a celebration and reception during the NEXT Conference and Exposition, in Nashville, TN.

Catherine Worthingham Fellow of APTA 

 

The Catherine Worthingham Fellow designation (FAPTA) is given to a physical therapist or life physical therapist member of APTA whose contributions to the profession through leadership, influence, and achievements demonstrate frequent and sustained efforts to advance the profession for a period of not less than 15 years preceding the nomination for election.



 

 

Gammon M. Earhart, PT, PhD

Chattanooga Research Award 

 

The Chattanooga Research Award is a publication award given to an APTA member whose research manuscript presents a novel and innovative research study or theoretical model that demonstrates a significant contribution to physical therapy.

 


 

 

Nancy J. Bloom, PT, DPT, MSOT 

Henry O. and Florence P. Kendall Practice Award

  

The Henry O. and Florence P. Kendall Practice Award is a practice and service award given to a physical therapist that has engaged in extensive clinical practice for at least 15 years, positively and substantially affected the shape, scope, and quality of physical therapy practice, had an impact on other physical therapists in a manner that has significantly increased their abilities to practice physical therapy, and contributed to the overall and widespread development of physical therapy as a caring profession.

  



 

Chanelle M. Hall, SPTA 

Minority Scholarship Fund Award for Physical Therapist Assistant Students 

 

This Minority Scholarship Award is given to a minority physical therapist assistant student in their final year of PTA education to acknowledge and reward their demonstrated participation in minority affairs and services, the potential for superior achievements as a physical therapist assistant, and excellence.
